nvlddmkm Nvidia Windows Vista Display Driver

Windows Vista and the Nvidia driver nvlddmkm.sys have been having problems working together, and with many different system configurations the driver crashes and reboots. Typically, the nvlddmkm driver crash results in the display going black for a few seconds, then restarting with one of the following messages:

• Display driver stopped responding and has recovered.
• Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding, but has succesfully recovered.
• Display driver has stopped responding and has successfully recovered.
